Ministry Support

“The challenge is to devise structures
that strengthen the bonds which link
us together, yet free and support us
for our ministry.”

Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea, Constitutions, 5.13

Ministry Support Services includes the range of services that support the work of Mercy across ISMAPNG. Support services are offered in areas such as secretarial and administrative support, human resources, technology, vocational training and development, quality and risk management, Sister support, archives and heritage, legal, finance, and property management.

Staff who work largely “behind the scenes” contribute to the management of resources, and provide the necessary foundations and structures to ensure that the work of Mercy can continue in an effective and sustainable way.

Mercy Support Services

Much of the business of the Institute is administered through Mercy Support Services (MSS). As a component of ISMAPNG and a ministry, MSS works closely with the Institute Leadership Team and Community Leaders to support the Institute and the sisters.

The core purpose of MSS is to enable and support ISMAPNG and its ministries to advance their works of mercy by providing relevant advice, efficient services and practical solutions.

MSS is dedicated to providing a range of services covering legal, finance, property, human resources, communication, archives and heritage, technology, administration and sister support. The team is widespread, with Community Offices and Mercy Centres across Australia and a large number of our people working directly at sisters’ residences.

The MSS values, as guiding principles, help us bring to life what makes us a unique and valued ministry of ISMAPNG.
